STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) -Oklahoma defensive ends coach Chris Wilson has been hired as the co-defensive coordinator at Mississippi State.
Sooners coach Bob Stoops released a statement Saturday saying the job was a “good opportunity” for Wilson and that he appreciated Wilson’s contributions to the program.
A former linebacker at Oklahoma, Wilson had been the team’s defensive ends coach since 2005. He also was the Sooners’ special teams coordinator.
His hiring will help fill the vacant defensive coordinator’s job at Mississippi State, created when Carl Torbush left for the same job at Kansas.
Stoops says he does not have a timetable for replacing Wilson.
