SEATTLE (AP) -New Washington coach Steve Sarkisian hired four new assistant coaches Tuesday, including Fresno State offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier to be quarterbacks coach.
Sarkisian also added Mike Cox as linebackers coach, Jeff Mills as secondary coach, and Joel Thomas as running backs coach.
Dennis Slutak was hired as assistant athletic director for football operations. He had worked at USC with Sarkisian and held a similar position.
Nussmeier, a former star quarterback at Idaho, spent one season as coach Pat Hill's offensive coordinator at Fresno State. Previously, he had been quarterbacks coach for the St. Louis Rams and at Michigan State.
