Mike Leach says he doesn’t think his lawsuit against Texas Tech for wrongful termination has anything to do with him not getting another coaching job.
Leach interviewed for the Maryland job, but Terrapins athletic director Kevin Anderson hired Randy Edsall away from Connecticut instead.
Leach was fired by Texas Tech in December 2009 after receiver Adam James accused the coach of mistreating him after the player was diagnosed with a concussion.
Leach denies the allegations and says his pending lawsuit against Tech “certainly doesn’t impact my ability to coach and it wouldn’t have anything to do with any other schools.”
Leach said Tuesday night he had not been contacted by Pittsburgh or Connecticut, two schools with coaching vacancies.
