EL PASO, TX (The Spread) – USC looks to put a positive end to a bad season when it faces Georgia Tech in the 2012 Sun Bowl on Monday at 2PM ET from Sun Bowl Stadium.

USC is 7-5 on the season and 3-9 against the spread while Georgia Tech is 6-7 overall and 8-5 against the spread. The Trojans have hit the under 7 times this season while the Yellowjackets have hit the over 7 times. These two have no recent meetings.

USC closed its season with a 22-13 loss to Notre Dame. The Trojans went just 1-4 over their final five games after being one of the preseason favorites to win the national title. The Trojans will be without Barkley, their starting quarterback, due to a shoulder injury. He threw for 3,272 yards and 36 touchdowns this season. Georgia Tech is coming off a 21-15 loss in the ACC Championship Game to Florida State. The Jackets lost their final two games of the season, but were granted bowl eligibility for going 6-6 in regular season play. The offense is averaging 34.5 points per game on the year while the defense is giving up 29.9 points per contest. Georgia Tech has the fourth-best rushing attack in the country, averaging 312.5 yards per game on the ground. Tevin Washington has thrown for 1,173 yards and seven touchdowns this season while also rushing for 638 yards and 19 scores.

In terms of Injuries, Georgia Tech punter Sean Poole is questionable for the game with a collarbone injury. USC cornerback Nickell Robey is questionable with a shoulder injury while tight end Christian Thomas is questionable with a hip injury.
