LSU went 8-4 on the season and 4-4 in the SEC, having somewhat of a disappointing year. The Tigers finished the season with a 23-17 win over Texas A&M, but that snapped a two-game losing streak. Notre Dame had a great start to its season, going 6-0, but then the Irish lost five of their last six to finish 7-5. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 52.5 points (View Matchup). LSU has won four of its last six against Notre Dame and is 2-0-1 against the spread in their last three meetings.
The real question of this game will be what can Zaire do in his first start, especially against an LSU defense that is one of the best in the nation. The Tigers are giving up just 305.8 yards per game and 162.3 passing yards per contest. On the other side, LSU is facing an average Notre Dame defense. The Tigers post 219.5 rushing yards per game and running back Leonard Fournette has rushed for 891 yards and eight scores this season.
