USC Trojans Game Notes
USC sophomore QB Kedon Slovis completed 25-of-32 passes for 287 yards and five touchdowns in a 38-13 victory over Washington State on Sunday. Slovis (6’2/200) led USC to touchdowns on their first five drives of the game, as the Trojans opened up a 35-6 halftime lead and never looked back. In the first quarter alone, he threw a ridiculous four touchdowns passes to Amon-Ra St. Brown, who tied a NCAA record for touchdown receptions in one quarter. The sophomore signal caller also tossed a 35-yard touchdown to Tyler Vaughns as the Trojans cruised to the blowout win. USC takes their 4-0 record into their rivalry game against UCLA this Saturday.
UCLA Bruins Game Notes
UCLA junior QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson completed 18-of-24 passes for 192 yards and a touchdown while rushing 15 times for 49 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s 25-18 win over Arizona State. Thompson-Robinson continues to show his development as a passer this season. After a couple of good performances against Colorado and Cal early on, Thompson-Robinson came back again this week with another efficient performance. Though he did not put the ball in the end zone as often as in the previous two games, Robinson did showcase some impressive accuracy. He also earned his first game of the year without an interception, which is hopefully a trend he can continue. UCLA are now 3-2 with a rivalry game against USC up next.
