Heisman Trophy Odds
(TheSpread) – The 2013 Heisman Trophy Finalists have been announced, but the winner appears to be more than clear.
The finalists for the Heisman were announced on Monday and they are Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston, Northern Illinois quarterback Jordan Lynch, defending winner and Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron, Auburn running back Tre Mason and Boston College running back Andre Williams.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Winston is the overwhelming favorite to win, as he has 1/150 odds. The other five finalists have been grouped into The Field, which has been given 50/1 odds.
Winston threw for 3,820 yards and 38 touchdowns in his freshman season, leading FSU to the BCS Championship Game. Winston also had just 10 interceptions while completing 67.9 percent of his passes.
Lynch threw for 2,676 yards and 23 touchdowns while rushing for 1,881 yards and 22 touchdowns for Northern Illinois this season, as a senior.
Manziel won the Heisman last year and ended up throwing for 3,732 yards with 33 touchdowns and 13 interceptions this year while rushing for 686 yards and eight scores. He also completed 69.1 percent of his passes.
McCarron threw for 2,676 yards and 26 touchdowns this season with just five interceptions. He completed 67.6 percent of his passes as a senior.
Mason rushed for 1,621 yards and 22 touchdowns for Auburn. The junior running back also caught 11 passes for 121 yards as he helped lead the Tigers to the SEC title and the BCS Championship Game.
Williams is a senior for Boston College and he rushed for 2,102 yards and 17 touchdowns on the year, averaging 6.6 yards per carry.
