PASADENA, CA (The Spread) – The BCS Championship Game is set as No. 1 Florida State will face No. 2 Auburn on Monday, Jan. 6 at 8:30PM ET, live from the Rose Bowl.

Florida State is 13-0 on the season and 11-2 against the spread. FSU is the ACC champion while Auburn won the SEC and was 12-1 on the year and 11-2 against the spread. These two have no recent meetings.

Trends show that Auburn has hit the over in 7 of their last 8 games while Florida State has hit the over in 10 of their 13 games this season.

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Florida State is the favorite to win the game, as the Seminoles have opening odds of -8.5 points against Auburn in the title game. The over/under total for the game has opened at 64.5 points.

Florida State claimed the ACC Championship by beating Duke 45-7 last Saturday. The Seminoles have been absolutely dominant this year, averaging 53 points per game on offense while allowing just 10.7 points per game. The Seminoles are being led by quarterback Jameis Winston, who has thrown for 3,820 yards and 38 touchdowns. Devonta Freeman has added 943 rushing yards with 13 touchdowns while three different receivers have over 900 yards this season.

Auburn claimed the SEC Championship by beating Missouri, 59-42. The Tigers have won nine straight entering this championship game. Auburn averaged 40.2 points per game on offense this season while the defense held opponents to 24 points per game. Auburn has been led by its rushing attack, which leads the country with 335.7 yards per game. Tre Mason has rushed for 1,621 yards and 22 touchdowns while quarterback Nick Marshall has run for 1,023 yards and 11 scores. Marshall has also thrown for 1,759 yards and 12 touchdowns.

In terms of Injuries, Florida State offensive lineman Ira Denson (shoulder) is out for this game while defensive back Tyler Hunter (neck) is questionable for the contest. Auburn defensive back Joshua Holsey (knee) is out for the game while offensive lineman Patrick Miller (discipline) is questionable.

The Public Bets for this game are currently backing Auburn, as the Tigers are getting 68% of the wagers with odds of +8.5 points at Florida State on Jan. 6.
