Bulldogs roll past Tech
Georgia had no trouble with its rival, Georgia Tech, last weekend, earning a 52-7 road victory for a sixth consecutive win. The Bulldogs are now 11-1 on the season, 7-1 in the SEC, 7-5 against the spread and 9-3 with the under.
The Bulldogs have been one of the top defenses in the nation this year, allowing just 10.4 points and 257 yards per game, including only 186 passing yards per game. The Georgia offense is putting up 32.9 points and 420.6 yards per game, including 200 rushing yards per contest. Jake Fromm has thrown for 2,385 yards and 21 touchdowns this season to lead the offense, while D’Andre Swift has 1,203 rushing yards and seven scores. George Pickens is the team’s leading receiver with 33 catches for 498 yards and six touchdowns.
LSU makes quick work of A&M
LSU kept its unbeaten season going last weekend with a 50-7 win over Texas A&M at home. The Tigers have thrown a perfect 12-0 record during the season, including an 8-0 mark in the SEC. LSU is 7-5 against the spread this year and 8-4 with the over.
The Tigers have been led all year by their offense, which is one of the best in the nation. LSU is putting up 48.7 points and 560.4 yards per game. Defensively, the Tigers aren’t too shabby either. They are giving up just 22.1 points and 345.9 yards per contest. Joe Burrow could be the 2019 Heisman winner. He has thrown for 4,366 yards and 44 touchdowns this season. He also has rushed for 248 yards and three scores. Ja’Marr Chase is his top receiver with 70 catches for 1,457 yards and 17 touchdowns. Clyde Edwards-Helaire is the leading rusher with 1,233 yards and 16 touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Georgia
The Bulldogs have hit the under in six straight conference games, but they are 10-3-1 with the over in their last 14 neutral site games as an underdog.
LSU
The Tigers have hit the over in 10 of their last 15 games overall, but have hit the under in four of their last five neutral site games as a favorite.
Prediction:
These two have hit the over in their last two meetings, but they have only played once in the last six years. Nobody has really been able to stop the Tigers, except for Auburn. Auburn did hold LSU to just 23 points and Georgia could be comparable defensively. The Bulldogs haven’t given up more than 20 points in a game this season. However, this will be their greatest offensive test by far. Georgia has been fortunate in that regard. The Bulldogs really haven’t seen many offensive powers. I think LSU may be able to rattle then if the Tigers can hit some big plays quickly. It could lead to some doubt. With this being indoors, I like LSU to be able to use that speed and big-play ability to continue to score points. Georgia is likely to find some offense along the way as well, but the Bulldogs won’t need to score a great amount for the over to hit.
SEC Championship Prediction: Georgia/LSU Over 54.5
