FSU a slim favorite vs. Tech
CHARLOTTE, NC (The Spread) – One team stands in the way of No. 2 Florida State and another perfect season, and that team is No. 12 Georgia Tech in Saturday’s ACC Championship.

Florida State went 12-0 this season thanks to a 24-19 win over Florida last week. Despite the unbeaten season, the Seminoles are just 3-9 against the spread this year. Their last two covers came with spreads of 3.5 points or less and their last five games with a spread of 7 points or more has resulted in a failed cover.
The recent string of close games have oddsmakers believing this game will be tight as well, as oddsmakers from Bovada.lv have made FSU a 4.5-point favorite in Saturday’s 8PM ET kickoff from Charlotte (View Matchup). The over/under total for the game is listed at 60.5 points.
Georgia Tech can play a big spoiler role for the country, but also cost the ACC a playoff team. The Yellow Jackets have won five straight entering this game, including a 30-24 win over Georgia last week in OT. Both of Tech’s losses this season came by 6 points or less and the team is 8-4 against the spread. Tech has went 2-8 in its last 10 against FSU, but the Jackets are 5-1-2 against the spread in the last eight against the Seminoles.
Georgia Tech has one of the top rushing attacks in the country, averaging 333.8 yards per game. The Seminoles will be tested on that front, as they have given up just 145.8 yards per game on the ground. Quarterback Justin Thomas has thrown for 1,460 yards and 16 scores to lead Tech while also rushing for 861 yards and five scores. FSU has struggled out of the gate recently, getting outscored by an average of 7.1-6 in the first quarter this season. That could be a problem against Tech, who has an average first quarter lead of 9.2-6. The Yellow Jackets also finish strong, averaging 11 points per game in the fourth.
