Central Florida comes into this game at 8-3 on the season and 6-1 in the AAC. A win will give the Knights a share of the league title with Memphis, whom the Knights never played this season. UCF was 7-4 against the spread but just 2-2 overall on the road this season. The home team has actually won the last four games in this series, thought the Knights are 4-1 against the spread in their last five against ECU.
East Carolina was once a top-25 team during the season, but back-to-back losses to Temple and Cincinnati ended that. Still, the Pirates have won their last two by double digits. They come into this game at 5-6 against the spread, but they have a 5-0 record straight up at home.
The home field is obviously big in this game and oddsmakers from BetDSI see things the same way, making ECU a 6.5-point favorite against the Knights tonight (View Matchup). The over/under total for the game is listed at 54.5 points.
The key matchup in this game will be the ECU offense against the UCF defense. The Pirates have one of the top offenses in the nation, averaging 543.8 yards per game. On the flip side, the Knights have one of the top defenses, allowing just 271.2 yards per game overall and 166.2 passing yards per contest. ECU quarterback Shane Carden has been very difficult to stop, as he has thrown for 3,912 yards and 25 touchdowns this season. If UCF can stop Carden, it can get a victory.
