Baylor is coming off a 48-46 win over Texas Tech to get to 10-1 on the season and win its fourth straight game. The Bears are tied atop the Big 12 with Kansas State and TCU. The Bears own a win over TCU already. Baylor is 6-4-1 against the spread this season, but its big issue coming into Saturday is the status of quarterback Bryce Petty, who suffered a concussion against the Red Raiders. He is listed as questionable but has stated that he expects to play.
With Petty expected to play, the odds are backing Baylor for Saturday’s 7:45PM ET kickoff on ESPN. The oddsmakers from BetDSI, have Baylor as an 8-point favorite against the Wildcats on Saturday (View Matchup). The over/under total for the game is listed at 66 points.
Kansas State is coming off a 51-13 win over Kansas last week. The Wildcats have won two straight since a 41-20 loss at TCU. Kansas State has been strong against the spread this season, going 8-3. While the Wildcats have lost three of their last four against Baylor, they have covered the spread in four of their last five against the Bears.
Both teams enter this game with strong offenses, but Baylor’s is superior to Kansas State. The Bears lead the nation in scoring at 49.8 points per game and also average 581.1 yards per game. The Wildcats have a strong defense, but allowed 553 yards to TCU, which has a similar offense in terms of average production. Petty has thrown for 2,893 yards and 25 touchdowns despite missing some games with injuries.
