MORGANTOWN, WV (TheSpread) – No. 23 West Virginia still has a shot at the Big East Championship on Saturday when the Mountaineers host Rutgers.
West Virginia is 8-3 on the season and 4-2 in conference play while Rutgers is 4-7 on the year and 1-5 in conference play. The Mountaineers are 5-1 at home while Rutgers is just 1-3 on the road.

West Virginia has won three straight and they can win the Big East title and a BCS bid with a win and a loss by Connecticut to South Florida. The Mountaineers have held their last three opponents to 10 points and not allowed more than 21 points in a single game this year. Their 12.6 points allowed per game ranks second in the nation and they also hold opponents to 255.7 yards per game. On offense, WVU is averaging 363.3 yards per game and 25.9 points per game this season. Geno Smith has thrown for 2,215 yards and 22 touchdowns to lead the offense.
Rutgers has lost five straight games heading into Saturday’s contest. They have given up 109 points over the last two weeks. On the season, the Knights are allowing 25.7 points per game and scoring just 21.5 points per contest. Mark Harrison has caught 41 passes for 763 yards and eight touchdowns to lead the team.
WVU linebacker Donovan Miles is questionable for the game with a head Injury while Rutgers running back Joe Martinek is questionable with an ankle injury.
