USC hires Helton full-time
A high-profile head coaching vacancy was taken on Monday as USC elected to hire interim coach Clay Helton as the full-time coach.
Helton has been with USC since 2010 and he has taken over the program since the university had to fire Steve Sarkisian in October over off-the-field issues. Sarkisian was in just his second season as head coach of USC, replacing Lane Kiffin.
Since taking over, USC has went 5-2 with wins over Utah and UCLA. The Trojans are now 8-4 on the season and getting set to meet Stanford in the 2015 Pac-12 Championship Game.
According to oddsmakers at MyBookie.ag, USC comes into Saturday’s 7:45PM ET game against Stanford as a slight underdog. The Trojans are currently getting odds of -4.5 points against Stanford. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 60 points. USC comes into the game at 6-6 against the spread, 3-4 ATS with Helton as the coach.
