Florida looks for third straight
The Florida Gators are coming off a 23-6 win at Missouri two weeks ago and Florida has won its last two since a 7-point loss against Georgia. The Gators are now 9-2 on the season, 7-4 against the spread and 7-4 with the under.
The Gators are strong defensively, allowing just 14.2 points and 306.3 yards per contest. Offensively, Florida is putting up 32.4 points and 416.7 yards per game. Kyle Trask has been leading the Florida offense with 2,293 yards and 21 touchdowns. Lamical Perine is the leading rusher with 520 yards and four scores, while Kyle Pitts is the top receiver with 46 catches for 566 yards and five touchdowns.
FSU trying to end on a high note
Florida State is coming off a 49-12 win at home over Alabama State two weeks ago for a second straight victory. The Seminoles are 6-5 on the season, 4-6-1 against the spread and 6-5 with the under.
FSU has been middle of the road on both offense and defense. The defense is giving up 27.5 points and 433.2 yards per game. Offensively, Florida State is putting up 30.2 points and 417.1 yards per contest. James Blackman has thrown for 1,945 passing yards and 16 touchdowns to lead the offense while Cam Akers has rushed for 1,042 yards and 13 touchdowns. Tamorrion Terry is leading the receivers with 44 catches for 892 yards and eight scores.
College Football Betting Trends
Florida
The Gators are 6-2 against the spread in their eight non-conference games and 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games following a win.
Florida State
The Seminoles are 1-4-1 against the spread in their last six road games and 0-5 ATS in their last five non-conference games.
Prediction:
Florida ended a five-game losing streak to FSU last year in a 41-14 victory. The Seminoles have managed to rally through some adversity this year to get bowl eligible, but FSU is going to have its hands full with this Florida defense. The Gators have been very strong at home this year, allowing just 16 points total. I think FSU is going to struggle with the Gators under the lights tonight. Florida should be amped up to make a statement in this game. Florida’s offense isn’t outstanding, but I think the Gators can find enough offense to cover this spread against an average defense.
