ATLANTA, GA (The Spread) – A spot in the BCS National Championship is on the line Saturday when No. 2 Alabama meets No. 3 Georgia in the SEC Championship Game at 4PM ET from the Georgia Dome.

Both teams come into this game at 11-1 overall and 7-1 in SEC play. Both teams are also 6-6 against the spread on the year. Georgia has actually won and covered in three of its last four meetings with Alabama.

Trends show that Alabama is 6-0 against the spread in its last 6 games at a neutral site. Georgia is just 2-5 ATS in its last 7 games at a neutral site. These two teams have hit the over in their last four meetings.

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Alabama is the favorite in this game, as the Crimson Tide have odds of -7 points against Georgia. The spread reached a high of 9 points during the week before closing at a low of Alabama -7.

Alabama is coming off a 49-0 win against Auburn last week. The Crimson Tide have won two straight games by a score of 49-0 since losing to Texas A&M, 29-24 back on Nov. 10. Alabama comes into this game averaging 39 points per game on offense, while the defense is allowing just 9.3 points per game, which ranks first in the country. This year’s team is being led by running back Eddie Lacy, who has rushed for 1,001 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Georgia is coming off a 42-10 win over Georgia Tech last week. The Bulldogs have won six straight since a 35-7 loss at South Carolina back on Oct. 6. The Bulldogs have scored 38 points per game on offense this year, while the defense is allowing 17.7 points per contest. Georgia is led by quarterback Aaron Murray, who has thrown for 3,201 yards and 30 touchdowns on the season.

In terms of Injuries, Alabama receiver Kenny Bell will be out for this game with a leg injury while cornerback John Fulton is questionable with a toe injury. Georgia nose tackle Mike Thornton is questionable with an ankle injury while fullback Merritt Hall is questionable with an ankle injury.
