Cyclones win back-to-back
Iowa State is coming off a 41-31 win at home over Kansas. The Cyclones have won two straight coming into this week to get back into the rankings. Iowa State is 7-4 on the year, 5-3 in the Big 12, 5-5-1 against the spread and 5-5-1 with the over/under total.
The Cyclones have been pretty prolific on offense this year, putting up 35.6 points and 479.3 yards per game. Defensively, Iowa State is giving up 25.2 points and 368.9 yards per contest. Brock Purdy has thrown for 3,575 yards and 26 touchdowns to lead the offense while also rushing for 268 yards and eight scores. Breece Hall is the leading rusher with 783 yards and eight touchdowns while Deshaunte Jones is the top receiver with 70 catches for 822 yards and two touchdowns. O’Rien Vance is leading the defense with 56 tackles and 6.5 sacks.
K-State ends skid
Kansas State ended a two-game losing streak last week with a 30-27 win at Texas Tech. The Wildcats are now 7-4 on the season, 4-4 in the Big 12, 8-3 against the spread and 7-3-1 with the under.
The Wildcats are led by their defense, allowing just 21.9 points and 375.8 yards per game. Wyatt Hubert is leading the defense with 26 tackles and seven sacks. Offensively, K-State is putting up 31 points and 384.2 yards per contest. Skylar Thompson has thrown for 2,134 passing yards and 12 touchdowns while rushing for 364 yards and 10 scores. James Gilbert is the top rusher with 679 yards and six scores, while Dalton Schoen is the leading receiver with 34 catches for 568 yards and four scores. Gilbert is questionable to play today due to an ankle injury.
College Football Betting Trends
Iowa State
The Cyclones are 13-3-1 with the under in their last 17 road games and 16-3-2 with the under in their last 21 games following a win.
Kansas State
The Wildcats are 12-3 with the under in their last 15 home games and 3-0-1 with the under in their last four conference games.
Prediction:
These two have hit the over in four of the last five meetings. The total is set quite low for a team in Iowa State that has been one of the stronger offensive teams in the nation. The Cyclones have put up at least 34 points in their last three road games. While Kansas State is usually known for defense, the Wildcats aren’t quite as strong as usual. They gave up 27 to Texas Tech, 20 to West Virginia, 27 to Texas, 41 to Oklahoma and 31 to Baylor. I think Iowa State can find some holes in this defense to push for around 30 points as well. Kansas State should see an uptick in offense as well, playing at home against an average defense.
College Football Week 14 Prediction: Iowa State/Kansas State Under 46.5
