WVU drops another
West Virginia continued its struggles last weekend with a 20-13 loss at home to Oklahoma State. The Mountaineers have scored 20 or less in five of their last six games. WVU is now 4-7 on the season, 2-6 in the Big 12, 4-5-2 against the spread and 7-4 with the under.
Offense has been a big issue for the Mountaineers this year. They are averaging just 20.6 points and 329.2 yards per game. Defensively, WVU is allowing 29.9 points and 409.4 yards per game. Austin Kendall has been leading the team with 1,989 passing yards and 12 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. However, Jarret Doege has started recent games and has 660 passing yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions. Sam James is the team’s leading receiver with 66 catches for 663 yards and two touchdowns. Leddie Brown is the leading rusher with 320 yards.
Horned Frogs all at Oklahoma
TCU was able to limit the Oklahoma offense this past weekend, but still came up short in a 28-24 road loss. The Horned Frogs have dropped three of their last four to fall to 5-6 on the season and 3-5 in the Big 12. TCU is also 4-7 against the spread and 7-4 with the over.
The Horned Frogs are middle of the road on both offense and defense this year. TCU is putting up 31.5 points and 417.7 yards per game while allowing 27 points and 347 yards per contest. Max Duggan has thrown for 1,933 yards and 15 touchdowns while also rushing for 532 yards. Darius Anderson is the team’s leading rusher with 792 yards and six touchdowns. Sewo Olonilua has also rushed for 507 yards and seven scores. Jalen Reagor is the top receiver with 37 catches for 554 yards and five touchdowns. Garret Wallow is leading the defense with 113 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
College Football Betting Trends
West Virginia
West Virginia has hit the under in four straight conference games and in four of their last five against a losing team.
TCU
TCU has hit the over in four straight home games and in five of their last six games on grass.
Prediction:
These two have hit the under in four of their last five meetings. I could see that happening again this time around given the struggles West Virginia is having on offense this season. The Mountaineers have really struggled on the road, even against a bad defensive team like Oklahoma. The Horned Frogs aren’t going to overwhelm anyone on offense either, and the WVU defense has been pretty competitive to make up for their bad offense. I think points will be tough to come by in this one.
