Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Sun Devils are 1.5-point favorites to beat the Wildcats. The total, meanwhile, sits at 64.5 points. As of this writing, 69% of the public betting tickets wagered on this matchup are on the Sun Devils.
Arizona State Sun Devils
Arizona State senior QB Manny Wilkins completed 15-of-32 passes for 182 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday’s 31-29 loss at Oregon. Wilkins has totaled three or more touchdowns (six passing, three rushing) across the past three outings, totaling 18 TD strikes and seven rushing scores overall. Despite the decent numbers, he has thrown for 199 yards or fewer in three of the past four outings. He’ll look for bigger numbers, and more importantly a win, in a rivalry game at Arizona next Saturday.
Arizona Wildcats
Arizona junior QB Khalil Tate completed 18-of-30 passes for 294 yards, four touchdowns and an interception in Saturday’s 69-28 loss at Washington State. Tate also rushed for 25 yards, but he was overshadowed by Washington State Heisman hopeful QB Gardner Minshew, who ended up tossing seven touchdowns. Tate spread the ball around, hitting Tony Ellison for a score, tossing two touchdowns to Shawn Poindexter while also connecting with Shun Brown for a visit to the end zone. He’ll look to keep it rolling in next Saturday’s rivalry game against Arizona State.

Prediction
While the game was in Pullman against a team that, up until its loss to Washington on Friday night, was competing for a playoff berth this year, the Wildcats were absolutely destroyed by Wazzu last week. I can’t back an Arizona squad that surrendered 69 points a week ago and is allowing 31.8 points per game this season. Khalil Tate is a fantastic athlete but outside of flashes here and there, he has been too inconsistent in Kevin Sumlin’s first season in Tuscaloosa. Arizona State has an experienced quarterback in Manny Wilkins, the better defense and is laying a small number. I like the Sun Devils today.
