Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Tigers are 23-point favorites to beat the Razorbacks. The total, meanwhile, sits at 60 points. As of this writing, 63% of the public betting tickets wagered on this matchup are on the Tigers.
Arkansas Razorbacks
Arkansas senior cornerback Ryan Pulley has been suspended for Friday’s game against Missouri. Pulley and starting safety Kamren Purl have been suspended for “conduct that isn’t acceptable” according to Arkansas head coach Chad Morris. Both were seen socializing and taking pictures with members of the Mississippi State dance team during Arkansas’s loss to the Bulldogs on Saturday. Pulley has started nine games this year, and redshirt freshman Montaric Brown will likely start in his place.
Missouri Tigers
Missouri senior QB Drew Lock completed 21-of-30 passes for 257 yards with two scores in a 50-17 throttling of Tennessee on Saturday. This was a thorough clubbing by the Tigers, who have — again — turned their season around in the second half. Lock was solid in the victory, not turning the football over and finding the end zone for the 22nd and 23rd time, respectively. A team that was once out of bowl contention now has a chance to win eight games, and Lock (6’4/225) has a lot to do with that. They close the year with Arkansas on Friday.
Betting Trends
Arkansas
The Razorbacks are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games overall.
Missouri
The Tigers are 7-3 against the number in their last 10 home games.
Prediction
Arkansas suspended a pair of starting cornerbacks this week for taking photos with Mississippi State cheerleaders a week ago. Lock should be able to take advantage of a thin Razorbacks defense and an Arkansas team that is likely to come out flat and uninspired. I know this is a big number, but this game means way more to Barry Odom’s team than it does the visitors. Expect Lock to light it up in his final game in Columbia.
