Utah at TCU

The most intriguing game of Saturday’s college football schedule could be No. 19 Utah facing unbeaten and 4th-ranked TCU at 7:30PM ET from Amon G. Carter Stadium.

Bet Utah at TCU
TCU currently is 9-0 on the season and 6-2 against the spread. The Horned Frogs are in the “on deck circle” in the BCS standings, sitting fourth with one of the top three teams assured to lose at some point this season. The Frogs have covered in their last four games, winning by at least 31 points in each game.

The Utes are 8-1 this season with a 3-6 record against the spread. Utah’s lone loss was a 31-24 defeat at the hands of Oregon on the road. Utah has played to the level of its competition in a lot of games this season, as the Utes have five games than have been decided by 12 points or less. Utah has only lost to TCU once in six meetings.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have made TCU 19.5-point home favorites over Utah on Saturday night. The over/under total for this game has been established at 46.5.

Trends show these two high-scoring offenses come up short against one another, as the two have combined to average just 36 points in their last six meetings. The point spread odds seem to be high for TCU due to Utah’s inability to blow out its competition this season, whereas the Horned Frogs are winning by an average of 26 points per-game.

TCU has been stellar at home, winning by an average of 34 points per-game. The key in picking this game comes down to perception. Both teams have comparable offensive and defensive numbers, so with the spread being 19.5-points, it is all about what you believe.

The Horned Frogs are perceived to be a legitimate contender for the national title this year, whereas Utah has long since been forgotten after an unbeaten 2008 season, yet the Utes have just one loss this season, coming on the road against a ranked opponent. If you are one that believes that the Horned Frogs are for real, taking TCU minus the points is a good pick. If you think the Horned Frogs are over-hyped, go with the Utes and the points. Saturday will clearly show everyone whether TCU is for real.

No matter what team you like in this game, you have to keep an eye our for the over/under. The total has been set low because these two have posted so few points in the past. This could be another slugfest, but both offenses look to be able to score. With the low point total, this year might be the chance to capitalize on favorable odds and go with the over.
