Iowa vs. Northwestern Pick
A year after knocking off Iowa on the road, Northwestern looks to do it again this season at home. The Hawkeyes will seek revenge this Saturday at 12:00 on ESPN and for a free pick on this Week 11 college football matchup, continue reading.
Oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com have made Iowa a 9.5-point favorite over Northwestern in Week 11, while the over/under total is currently 50 points.
The Hawkeyes are 7-2 straight up this season and have covered in five of their first nine games. They’re also 2-1 on the road this year, although they failed to cover in two of those three games.
The Wildcats are a respectable 6-3 overall but have been brutal against the spread. They’ve covered in just two of their first nine games, including only once in four home games this season. (They’ve also allowed one front door cover and one back door cover in the closing minutes in two of their last three games.)
Our Week 11 Free Pick:
This is going to be one of those nasty Big Ten games that is one in the trenches. Expect both teams to try and win the time of possession battle and look to play it safe. The under is 5-0 in the last five meetings between these two teams and 12-5 in the Wildcats’ last 17 games in November. The under is also 11-4 in the Hawkeyes last 15 games as a road favorite and is 24-8-1 in their last 33 road games. We think this will be a low scoring game that could come down to the wire and as long as the contest doesn’t go into overtime, we like the chances that the total will stay under. Our pick is the under.
