One of the top games on Saturday comes in the Big Ten Conference when No. 11 Penn State hosts No. 15 Ohio State at 3:30PM ET from Beaver Stadium.
Bet Ohio State at Penn State
Since suffering their most recent losses, both teams have been as hot as anyone in the country. Penn State has won five-straight since losing 21-10 at home against Iowa. The Nittany Lions are 8-1 on the season and 5-4 against the spread. Penn State has covered the spread in its last five games, as they have won by at least 18 points in all five victories.
After losing to Purdue on Oct. 17, 26-18, the Buckeyes have won their last two games by at least 31 points. Ohio State is 7-2 on the season and 7-2 against the spread. The Buckeyes have four wins by 30 points and have beaten Penn State 10 times in 16 meetings.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have made Penn State 3.5-point home favorites over Ohio State on Saturday afternoon. The over/under total for this game has been established at 40.
Penn State has the 3.5-point odds due to being at home, which typically earns a 3-point spread. This game really comes down to the play of the quarterbacks, as both have struggled in the teams losses.
Darryl Clark has thrown for 2,158 yards with 18 touchdowns on the season, but was just 12-of-32 passing for 198 yards with three interceptions in the loss to Iowa. Terrelle Pryor has thrown for 1,543 yards and 13 touchdowns while rushing for 554 yards and six scores on the season, but was 28-for-56 passing for 398 yards and three interceptions in the two Buckeye losses.
While Pryor has played very well at times, he is still looking for a marquee win in his college football career. Clark has not been stellar, but has won big games during his time with the Nittany Lions, including a 13-6 win at Ohio State last season. Trends may favor Ohio State in this game, but in any top 25 matchup, quarterback play is what matters, and the Nittany Lions have the quarterback to cover the odds.
