Minnesota vs. Michigan State Odds
After suffering their first loss of season last week, No. 16 Michigan State looks to bounce back when it hosts Minnesota on Saturday Noon ET.
The Spartans are 8-1 on the year with a 5-0 record at home while Minnesota is 1-8 on the season and 1-2 on the road. In Big Ten play, the Spartans are 4-1 while the Gophers are 0-5.
Oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com have made Michigan State a 24.5-point favorite at home against Minnesota. The over/under has been set at 57.5.
The opening odds had Michigan State favored by 24 points and the line has since added a hook. The over/under hasn’t’ changed since opening at 57.5
The Spartans are coming off a 37-6 to Iowa last week. The Spartans had just 258 yards of offense along with three turnovers. The Spartans still average 427.6 yards per game on offense while holding opponents to 334.7 yards per game. Kirk Cousins has thrown for 2,146 yards and 15 touchdowns while the combination of Edwin Baker and Le’Veon Bell have combined for over 1,385 yards rushing and 15 touchdowns.
The Gophers are losers of seven straight, having allowed at least 28 points in every loss. Minnesota is giving up 417.6 yards per game on defense while the offense is posting 369.6 yards per game on offense. Adam Webber has thrown for 2,123 yards and 17 touchdowns while DeLeon Eskridge has 523 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
The underdog is 8-1 against the spread in the last nine games of this series and Minnesota is 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games as a road underdog while MSU is 2-8 ATS in their last 10 home games against a team with a losing road record.
Michigan State receiver Keshawn Martin is questionable with an ankle injury while Minnesota offensive linemen Matt Carfuel and Dominic Arnold are both doubtful with knee injuries.
