Bearcats grab another win
Cincinnati is coming off a 24-13 win over Tulsa two weeks ago for a fifth straight victory. The Bearcats are now 6-1 on the season, 3-0 in the AAC, 5-2 against the spread and 5-2 with the under.
The Bearcats have a really solid defense this season, allowing just 20.4 points and 344.7 yards per game. Offensively, Cincinnati is averaging 28.6 points and 383.9 yards per contest. Desmond Ridder has thrown for 1,399 yards and 14 touchdowns to lead the offense. He also has 202 rushing yards with a score. Michael Warren II is the team’s leading rusher with 498 yards and four touchdowns while Alec Pierce has 20 receptions for 410 yards and two touchdowns.
Pirates on a losing skid
ECU is coming off a 45-20 loss at home to South Florida last weekend. The Pirates have lost three straight games coming into this week and sit at 3-5 on the season, 0-4 in the AAC, 4-4 against the spread and 6-2 with the under.
The Pirates haven’t been anything special on offense or defense. ECU is putting up 21.5 points and 374.5 yards per game on offense while the defense is allowing 28.2 points and 417.2 yards per game. Holton Ahlers is leading the offense with 1,672 yards and seven touchdowns passing, but also has seven interceptions. He has rushed for 256 yards and four scores as well. Demetrius Mauney has rushed for 368 yards and a score, while CJ Johnson has 32 receptions for 399 yards and two touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Cincinnati
The Bearcats have hit the under in their last four games on grass and in seven of their last 10 road games.
East Carolina
The Pirates are 8-2 with the under in their last 10 games following a double-digit loss at home and 7-3 with the under in their last 10 against a winning team.
Prediction:
These two have hit the over in their last two meetings, as the winning team has put up at least 48 points in both cases. They have combined for at least 50 points in three straight encounters. This year feels like it should be different. Cincinnati is a defensive-led team and has been able to hold down much stronger offenses than what ECU will bring to the table. The Bearcats aren’t an overwhelming offense either, but will control the line of scrimmage and keep the ECU offense off the field. ECU doesn’t seem to have the toughness up front to stop Cincinnati from doing what it wants to do in this game.
College Football Week 10 Prediction: Cincinnati/ECU Under 47.5
