Virginia ended a three-game losing streak last week by beating Eastern Michigan 48-21. The Cavaliers have scored at least 34 points in all three wins this season, but have been held to 21 points or less in all four losses. The offense is averaging 394.3 yards per game while the defense is giving up 376.9 yards per game, including 211.4 rushing yards per game. Marc Verica has thrown for 1,489 yards and eight touchdowns while the combo of Keith Payne and Perry Jones have rushed for over 850 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Trends slightly favor Virginia in this game as the Cavaliers are 9-4 against the spread in their last 13 after a cover while Miami is just 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 when it plays a team with a losing record.
Miami defensive lineman Josh Holmes and offensive lineman Joel Figueroa each are doubtful with respective injuries while Virginia receivers Bobby Smith and Eric Thornton are both questionable with leg injuries.
