West Virginia on three-game slide
The West Virginia football team has lost its last three games following a 52-14 loss at Oklahoma two weeks ago. The Mountaineers are now 3-4 on the season, 1-3 in the Big 12, 2-4-1 against the spread and 4-3 with the over.
WVU has struggled a great deal on offense this year, averaging just 22.7 points and 314.1 yards per game. Defensively, the Mountaineers are giving up 33.4 points and 409 yards per contest. WVU has really struggled to establish a ground game. Kennedy McKoy is the leading rusher with 188 yards on 66 carries. Austin Kendall is leading the team with 1,429 passing yards and 11 touchdowns, but he also has seven interceptions. TJ Simmons is his leading target, as he has 31 receptions for 409 yards and four scores.
Baylor staying unbeaten
The Baylor Bears continued their unbeaten regular season two weeks ago with a 45-27 win at Oklahoma State. Baylor improved to 7-0 with the win and they are 4-0 in the Big 12, 4-3 against the spread and 4-3 with the over.
Baylor has been pretty good defensively this season, allowing just 19.1 points and 358.6 yards per game. Offensively, Baylor is putting up 38.9 points and 484.1 yards per outing. Charlie Brewer has been steady on offense this year, throwing for 1,866 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also has rushed for 145 yards and six scores. John Lovett is leading Baylor in rushing with 446 yards and four scores, while Denzel Mims has 33 receptions for 519 yards and five touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
West Virginia
The Mountaineers have hit the over in eight of their last nine conference games and in 10 of their last 14 following a loss.
Baylor
The Bears have hit the under in six of their last eight conference games and in 10 of their last 13 games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous game.
Prediction:
These two have hit the over in three of their last four meetings overall and in three straight meetings in Waco. The total is being set pretty high for a team that is allowing under 20 points per game that is playing at home against an offense that is really struggling. WVU can’t run the ball, but Baylor has a pretty stout pass defense that should hold up at home. While Baylor could run up some points at home as well, the Bears have been more around 30 points in conference games. I don’t think the Mountaineers are going to get run out of the building here, but they definitely aren’t going to find enough offense to hit the over.
College Football Week 10 Prediction: West Virginia/Baylor Under 57
