Northwestern vs. Iowa Prediction
Iowa can’t seem to figure out how to beat Purdue and lost again to the Boilermakers to start its season last week. That said, will the Hawkeyes have more success versus the visiting Northwestern Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday? Iowa is currently a 2.5-point home favorite.

Northwestern Wildcats Game Notes
Northwestern redshirt senior QB Peyton Ramsey completed 23-of-30 passes for 212 yards with a score and added 47 yards on the ground with a touchdown in a 43-3 shellacking of Maryland on Saturday. Both starting quarterbacks in this game were making their debut after transferring. Taulia Tagovailoa (from Alabama) was awful. Ramsey (from Indiana) was anything but. While he didn’t make a ton of plays down field, the former Hoosiers quarterback was efficient and showed off his underrated dual-threat ability while leading the Wildcats to scores more often than not. Ramsey is not a star, but he’s an effective signal-caller; something Northwestern hasn’t had in a while. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound quarterback will lead the Wildcats into a battle against Iowa next Saturday.
Iowa Hawkeyes Game Notes
Iowa redshirt sophomore QB Spencer Petras completed 22-of-39 passes for 260 yards in Saturday’s 24-20 loss to Purdue. He also scored on a one-yard quarterback sneak in the second quarter. Petras (6’5/231), a former four-star prospect that Iowa flipped from Oregon State, backed up 2019 starter Nate Stanley last year. A pro-style signal-caller, Petras comes with an absolute whip of a right arm, generating easy velocity with minimal effort. But he didn’t elevate the passing game today because he was unable to hit the passes downfield that he has the arm to complete. Petras’ education continues as Iowa hosts Northwestern next week.
