Miami falls again
The Miami football team suffered yet another loss last weekend, this time a 28-21 OT loss at home to Georgia Tech. Miami is now just 3-4 on the year, 1-3 in the ACC, 3-4 against the spread and 4-3 with the over.
The Hurricanes are a solid defensive team, allowing just 20.4 points and 298.3 yards per game. Offensively, Miami is putting up 28.3 points and 410.6 yards per contest. Injuries have been an issue for the offense as both quarterbacks N’Kosi Perry and Jarren Williams are dealing with arm injuries and questionable to play on Saturday. They have combined for 1,957 passing yards and 15 touchdowns this season. DeeJay Dallas is the leading rusher with 486 yards and six scores while Brevin Jordan is the leading receiver with 28 catches for 438 yards and two touchdowns.
Pitt on a win streak
The Pittsburgh football team is riding a four-game winning streak right now following a 27-20 win at Syracuse last weekend. The Panthers are 5-2 on the season, 2-1 in the ACC, 5-2 against the spread and 5-2 with the under.
Pitt has been pretty steady on defense this season, allowing just 22.1 points and 302.9 yards per game. Offensively, the Panthers are putting up 22.3 points and 390.9 yards per contest. Kenny Pickett is leading the team with 1,602 yards and eight touchdowns this year while Taysir Mack has 45 catches for 545 yards and two touchdowns. A.J. Davis is the leading rusher with just 287 yards and three touchdowns. Kylan Johnson is leading the defense with 33 tackles and five sacks.
College Football Betting Trends
Miami
The Hurricanes are 5-14 against the spread in their last 19 conference games and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 road games.
Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh is 9-1-1 against the spread in their last 11 games in October and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 conference games.
Prediction:
The home team has won and covered the spread in three straight meetings between these two. Miami has struggled as of late despite having a big string of games at home. Now the Canes must hit the road to face Pitt. The Panthers have picked up tough road wins against Duke and Syracuse and already had a nice win at home over UCF this year. However, Pitt hasn’t been able to pull away from opponents. The Panthers have had all of their wins come by 10 points or less, including three by 3 points or less. Miami has the talent to keep this close, it is just a matter of whether or not the Hurricanes avoid key mistakes.
College Football Week 9 Prediction: Miami +5.5
