The Tar Heels are now 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 games played in the month of October, including last Saturday’s upset win over Miami as a 6-point road dog. They’re also 8-3 against the number in their last 11 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous contest but they’re just 1-4 at the betting window in their last five games coming off a successful cover.

The Cavaliers have been a great bet in various scenarios, including 9-2-1 against the spread in their last 12 games overall and 7-1 against the number in their last eight conference games. They also don’t shy away from top competition, covering in six of their last seven games versus opponents with winning records.

OUR PREDICTION: The Cavaliers have discovered their passing game under new coach Bronco Mendenhall. They’ve racked up 1,035 passing yards over their last three games, winning two of those contests. Kurt Benkert has thrown for 14 touchdowns and has two productive recievers in Olamide Zaccheaus and senior Keeon Johnson. When North Carolina upset Florida State three weeks ago it lost 34-3 at home to Virginia Tech the next week. While the Hokies are a better team than the Cavaliers, look for UNC to struggle a bit after an emotional win against Miami last Saturday.
