Maryland is coming off a dominant win last week, defeating Rutgers at home, 34-7. The Terrapins are now 4-2 overall, 2-1 in the Big Ten, 4-2 against the spread and 3-3 with the over/under total. They are just 1-1 ATS on the road.
The Terps have been pretty respectable on defense this year, allowing 23.3 points and 316.5 yards per game. Their pass defense is giving up just 190.2 yards per game. Offensively, Maryland is putting up 31.7 points and 365.7 yards per game. Maryland has a solid rushing attack that averages 245.2 yards per contest. Ty Johnson is the leading rusher with 435 yards, but he is questionable to play this weekend with an undisclosed injury. Anthony McFarland has run for 399 yards. Kasim Hill has thrown for 654 yards and six touchdowns at quarterback.

The Hawkeyes have won back-to-back games on the road, handily defeating Minnesota and Indiana. Iowa is now 5-1 on the season, 2-1 in the Big Ten, 5-1 against the spread and 4-2 with the over. They have covered the spread in all five wins.

College Football Betting Trends
Maryland
The Terrapins are just 4-10 against the spread in their last 14 road games and 5-21 ATS in their last 26 games following a win.
Iowa
Iowa is 6-2-1 against the spread in its last nine home games and 4-1 ATS in their last five following a win.
Prediction:
Maryland has covered the spread in both meetings with Iowa as members of the Big Ten. However, I like Iowa in this one. The Hawkeyes have turned it up a level since losing to Wisconsin. Iowa has a great defense that should give Maryland a lot of problems and the Hawkeyes are great at grinding out points, even against decent defensive teams. Maryland has been able to win this year, but hasn’t faced much in terms of opposition since beating Texas in the opener.
College Football Prediction: Iowa -10
