BERKLEY, CA (The Spread) – No. 22 Stanford looks to rebound from a tough loss on Saturday when it heads to California to face the Bears at 3PM ET on FOX.

Stanford is 4-2 on the season, 2-1 in the Pac-12 and 0-2 on the road. Cal is 3-4 overall, 2-2 in the Pac-12 and 2-2 at home. The Cardinal are 3-3 against the spread while the Golden Bears are 3-4 ATS. Cal has won 7 of its last 10 against Stanford.

Trends show that Stanford is just 3-7-1 against the spread in its last 11 meetings with Cal and the road team has covered the spread in 5 of the last 7 in this series. These two teams have also hit the over in their last 4 meetings.

Stanford is coming off a controversial 20-13 overtime loss at Notre Dame last week. The Cardinal looked to have a touchdown on the final play of the game that was ruled down, giving the Irish the victory. Stanford has lost both its games by 7 points or less and has played in overtime the last two weeks. On the season, the Cardinal are averaging 21.5 points per game allowed on defense while scoring 28.5 points per game on offense. The team is being led by running back Stepfan Taylor, who has rushed for 657 yards and five touchdowns this year.

Cal is coming off a 31-17 win at Washington State last week. The Golden Bears have now won two straight after a 1-4 start. Cal is averaging 28.9 points per game this year on offense while giving up 26.4 points per game on defense. The Bears are being led by quarterback Zach Maynard, who has thrown for 1,537 yards and 10 touchdowns.
