Offensive showdown
No. 15 Nebraska is just one play away from being unbeaten, but the Huskers are still contending for a Big XII Conference title, which continues Saturday when they host Texas Tech at 3:30PM ET from Memorial Stadium.
Bet Texas Tech at Nebraska
A 16-15 loss to Virginia Tech is the only blemish on the season for Nebraska, but the Huskers have all four of their wins by at least 15 points. The Huskers are 5-0 against the spread on the year thanks to the play of Roy Helu Jr, who has rushed for 552 yards and six touchdowns. Zac Lee has thrown for 1,085 yards and 10 touchdowns on the year, while Curenski Gilleylen and Niles Paul each have over 200 yards receiving. Nebraska leads the conference in scoring defense, allowing just eight points per-game, which also ranks second in the nation. The Huskers have allowed just 813 passing yards on the season.
Texas Tech leads the nation in passing yards behind the efforts of Taylor Potts, who has thrown for 1,817 yards and 13 touchdowns. Last week, Steven Sheffield threw for 490 yards and seven touchdowns against Kansas State, as Potts recovered from an injury. The Raiders also are second in the nation in yards per-game at 523.2. The offensive production has led Texas Tech to a 4-2 record and a 3-2 record against the spread. Both of Tech’s losses come against ranked opponents on the road, and both were by 10 points or less. Defensively, the Red Raiders are allowing 21.3 points and 349.7 yards per-game. Tech ranks last in the conference in passing defense, having allowed 1,455 yards through the air this season.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL have made Nebraska 10.5-point home favorites over Texas Tech on Saturday afternoon. The over/under total for this game has been established at 60.5.
