LSU handles Florida
The LSU Tigers are coming off another big win last weekend, defeating Florida at home, 42-28. LSU is now 6-0 on the season, 2-0 in the SEC, 4-2 against the spread and 5-1 with the over.
LSU has put together one of the best nations in the country this year, averaging 52.5 points and 561.2 yards per game. The defense has also still be pretty solid, allowing only 21.2 points and 317.5 yards per contest. Joe Burrow is leading the squad with a Heisman campaign. He has thrown for 2,157 yards and 25 touchdowns with just three interceptions. Justin Jefferson is his leading receiver with 40 catches for 670 yards and eight touchdowns while Clyde Edwards-Helaire is the leading rusher with 494 yards and seven touchdowns.
Bulldogs return home
Mississippi State is coming off a pair of road losses, falling at Auburn and Tennessee over recent weeks. The Bulldogs are 3-3 on the season, 1-2 in the SEC, 2-4 against the spread and 4-2 with the over.
The Bulldogs have struggled to sustain much on offense this year, averaging 26.8 points and 376.2 yards per game. Defensively, Mississippi State is giving up 27.2 points and 394.3 yards per game. Kylin Hill has led the offense with 609 rushing yards and five touchdowns while Garrett Shrader has thrown for 590 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 374 yards and two more scores. Osirus Mitchell is the team’s leading receiver with 24 catches for 335 yards and four touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
LSU
LSU has hit the over in four straight road games and in seven of their last nine overall.
Mississippi State
The Bulldogs have hit the under in seven straight games in October and in eight of their last nine following a loss.
Prediction:
These two have hit the under in four straight meetings, but certainly the LSU offense hasn’t been what it is now in those previous meetings. Despite that, I think this is a bit of a trap game for LSU. The Tigers are coming off the big win over Florida at home and have Auburn looming next week. Going to Mississippi State for a road game could lead to some ugly play. The Bulldogs aren’t a real threat, but I think that means LSU will overlook them and Mississippi State can pounce on that at home with some defensive stops. I am not sure if the Bulldogs will rack up a ton of offense, but I think they can throw a few haymakers at LSU. I would still go with the under here as I look for LSU to stumble a little on offense.
