Alabama remains No. 1 in the country following a 39-10 win over Missouri this past weekend. The Tide got a scare as quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a knee injury. Bama has won 17 national championships and is the defending champs.
Clemson was off this week after earning a 63-3 win at Wake Forest two weeks ago. The Tigers are now 6-0 on the season and 3-0 in the ACC, and are No. 3 in the AP rankings. Clemson is averaging 42.2 points per game thus far while giving up just 14.5 per game. The program has won two national titles, last winning in 2016.
The Buckeyes are 7-0 on the season after earning a 30-14 win at home over Minnesota. Ohio State moved up to No. 2 in the AP rankings. Ohio State is averaging 46.3 points per game on offense while allowing 19.1 per contest on defense. The program has won eight national championships, with the last coming in 2014.
Notre Dame has climbed to No. 4 in the AP rankings following its narrow 19-14 win over Pittsburgh at home this weekend. The Irish are 7-0 on the season and have a rather light schedule remaining. ND is averaging 32.6 points per game on offense this season while allowing just 18.7 per game. The Fighting Irish have won 11 national championships in program history, last doing so in 1988.
