Gators take care of Auburn
Florida had its best win of the 2019 season last weekend, besting Auburn at home, 24-13. The Gators are now 6-0 on the season, 3-0 in the SEC, 3-3 against the spread and 5-1 with the under.
The Gators have one of the top defenses in the country this year, allowing 9.5 points and 281.5 yards per game. Offensively, Florida is putting up 32.3 points and 424.7 yards per contest. The team got a scare against Auburn as Kyle Trask suffered a knee injury, but he was able to return late in the game and seems to be okay to go this week. He has thrown for 881 yards and seven touchdowns to lead the offense in place of Feleipe Franks, who is out for the year. Lamical Perine is leading the ground attack with 327 yards and four touchdowns while Freddie Swain has 14 catches for 280 yards and three scores. Jonathan Greenard is leading the defense with 26 tackles and four sacks.
LSU rolling on offense
LSU improved to 5-0 on the season last weekend with a 42-6 win over Utah State. The Tigers come into this weekend’s game with a 1-0 mark in the SEC while going 4-1 against the spread and 4-1 with the over.
The Tigers have the nation’s top offense in terms of scoring, averaging 54.6 points and 571.2 yards per game. Defensively, LSU is giving up just 19.8 points and 289.6 yards per contest. Joe Burrow is a Heisman contender this season. He has thrown for 1,864 yards and 22 touchdowns while completing 78 percent of his passes. Justin Jefferson has 30 catches for 547 yards and seven touchdowns to lead the receivers while Clyde Edwards-Helaire is the leading rusher with 360 yards and five touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Florida
The Gators are 5-1 with the under in their last six games overall and 4-1 with the under in their last five games following a win.
LSU
LSU is 6-1-1 with the over in its last eight games overall and 7-3 with the over in their last 10 games against a winning team.
Prediction:
These two have split the over/under total in their last 10 meetings. The total is being set low because both teams have been strong on defense this year, but LSU’s identity has changed in 2019. The Tigers are winning with offense and they are moving the ball with ease. Florida is the toughest defense the Tigers have faced yet this year, but I like what LSU is doing on offense. Burrow seems to be the right fit for the new offense and I expect that to continue this weekend.
College Football Week 7 Prediction: Florida/LSU Over 55.5
