LSU vs. Florida Free Pick
No. 9 LSU heads to “The Swamp” this Saturday night to take on No. 12 Florida at 7:30PM ET. Read on to check out our free pick for this Week 6 matchup.
Before we get to our free pick for tonight’s game, let’s take a look at the odds.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made Florida a 6-point favorite over LSU on Saturday. The over/under total for this game has been set at 42 points.
The Tigers are a perfect 5-0 on the year but they own a 2-3 record against the spread. They are 2-0 on the road and covered as a 10.5-point favorite at Vanderbilt in early September.
The Gators, meanwhile have posted a 4-1 record this season with their only loss coming at the hands of Alabama last week. They’re 3-2 against the spread, which includes a 2-1 ATS mark at home this year. They’ve averaged 40 points in their three home wins this season.
The Pick:
The Tigers are 0-5 against the spread in their last five meetings with the Gators, but the road team is 7-2 ATS in the last nine overall meetings. Generally, it’s never a good idea to bet against a top 10 team getting points, which is why I’m going to steer clear of making a pick on the side in this game. There seems to be more value with the under, which is 5-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams in Florida and 11-3 in the last 14 meetings overall. It’s also hit in four of the Tigers’ last four games and is 5-1 in the Gators’ last six games when they’re favored. My pick is the under 42 in this contest.
