Washington on a roll
Since losing its opener against Auburn, Washington has won four straight in pretty impressive fashion. Last week the Huskies dismantled BYU, 35-7. They are now 4-1 on the season, 2-0 in the Pac-12, 3-2 against the spread and 5-0 with the under.
Washington has been really solid on defense, as the Huskies are giving up 11.6 points and 281 yards per game. Their pass defense is among the best in the nation, giving up just 155.2 yards per contest. Offensively, Washington is scoring 28.8 points per game while amassing 438.8 yards per contest. Jake Browning has thrown for 1,243 yards and eight touchdowns this year to lead the offense while Aaron Fuller has caught 30 passes for 474 yards and a score. Myles Gaskin has added 438 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
UCLA struggling under Kelly
The Bruins fell to 0-4 on the season last week when it suffered a 38-16 loss at Colorado. UCLA is now 0-1 in the Pac-12, 1-3 against the spread and 2-2 with the over/under total. UCLA has hit the under in five of its last seven as a program.
Chip Kelly was known as an offensive genius with Oregon, but the Bruins are averaging just 17 points and 312 yards per game this season. Their passing game is putting up just 176.3 yards per contest. Dorian Thompson-Robinson has thrown for 660 yards and three touchdowns this season to go along with two interceptions. The leading rusher is Kazmeir Allen, who has just 173 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, UCLA is giving up 37.8 points and 421.5 yards per game this year, including 183 rushing yards per contest.
College Football Betting Trends
Washington
Washington has hit the under in seven of its last 10 road games and is 10-4-1 with the under in its last 15 conference games.
UCLA
UCLA is 5-2 with the under in its last seven home games and in five of its last seven games on grass.
Prediction:
UCLA has just been a mess on offense and I don’t see it changing much against one of the best defenses in the Pac-12. The Huskies should be able to lock up this UCLA offense and then I see the Huskies putting up some respectable offense on the road, but not lighting the world on fire. Washington hasn’t put up too many big scoring efforts so I expect the under to hit somewhat comfortably here.
College Football Prediction: Washington/UCLA Under 50.5
