Iowa State got its first win of the season last Thursday, beating Tulsa, 38-21. The Cyclones had dropped their first two games by a combined 14 points. Iowa State is allowing just 25.3 points per game on the season, but being held to 26.3 points per game on offense. Quarterback Sam B. Richardson has thrown for 757 yards and seven scores to lead the offense. He also has 111 rushing yards.

In terms of Injuries, Texas tackle Josh Cochran (shoulder) and quarterback David Ash (shoulder) are doubtful for the game. Iowa State offensive lineman Jamison Lalk (undisclosed) is doubtful while tight end Pierce Richardson (ankle) is questionable.
