Alabama vs. Missouri Prediction
Nick Saban will take his Alabama Crimson Tide on the road to open their 2020 SEC schedule, as the team will travel to Columbia, Missouri to take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. ET. Are the Crimson Tide laying too many points as a massive 29-point favorite?

Alabama Crimson Tide Game Notes
Alabama was voted the favorite to win the SEC in the preseason media poll. No surprise here as the Crimson Tide received 77 overall first-place votes with Georgia and LSU tying for second place with seven votes each and Florida finishing in fourth with five votes. In the SEC West, LSU finished in second place followed by Auburn, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Arkansas. Alabama plays the familiar role of favorite heading into their season opener at Missouri this Saturday.
Missouri Tigers Game Notes
Missouri redshirt senior WR Damon Hazelton (soft tissue) is listed as a starter on the depth chart for Saturday’s game against Alabama. Hazelton (6’2/215) transferred over from Virginia Tech this past winter. He was working through a soft-tissue injury of some sort earlier in preseason camp, but looks to be past that as Missouri makes final preparations for what figures to be a real toughie of an opener against Alabama. Hazelton posted three campaigns over 500 yards receiving at Virginia Tech, including a career-best 802-yard showing in 2018. The wideout has caught eight touchdowns in each of the past two seasons.
Alabama vs. Missouri College Football Prediction
With Missouri out 10-plus players due to COVID-19 restrictions, I’m not backing the Tigers despite the fact that they’re a huge dog. That said, laying 29 points on the road when we haven’t seen this rendition of ‘Bama yet seems pretty steep as well. That said, we know Alabama will be stout defensively, especially against a Missouri squad that as of Saturday morning had yet to name its starting quarterback. And when you have two starting quarterbacks, you don’t have any. Eli Drinkwitz should do well in Columbia but it’s going to take some time to get his offense in place. He simply doesn’t have the players yet to compete, especially against a Saban-led Crimson Tide defense. I’m taking the under.
