Kansas has steamrolled its competition through three games, defeating Northern Colorado, UTEP, and Duke by a combined score of 127-26. Todd Reesing has begun his Heisman campaign by throwing for 806 yards and six touchdowns through the first three games. Dezmon Briscoe has been the main target of Reesing, as Briscoe has 14 receptions for 271 yards and a touchdown in two games of action. Leading rusher, Jake Sharp, is questionable for Saturday’s game with a calf injury. Sharp has rushed for 240 yards and three touchdowns on the season. Toben Opurum would see more carries if Sharp is unable to go. Opurum has 211 yards rushing and five touchdowns on the season.

The Golden Eagles are 3-0 on the year with wins over Alcorn State, Central Florida, and Virginia. In last week’s 37-34 win over the Cavaliers, Damion Fletcher rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns, while Southern Miss scored the final 21 points of the game to earn the win. Fletcher has 344 yards and four touchdowns on the season, while quarterback Austin Davis has thrown for 600 yards and five touchdowns without an interception. Southern Miss is playing its first road game of the season on Saturday, and the Golden Eagles have lost their last four road openers.

Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made Kansas 13.5-point home favorites over Southern Mississippi on Saturday afternoon. The over/under total for this game has been established at 59.5.
