ASU at Georgia

A non-conference loss to open the season hasn’t kept No. 21 Georgia from making a push for the SEC Championship.

But the Bulldogs get a much-needed week off from conference play Saturday when they host Arizona State at 7PM ET from Sanford Stadium.

A 24-10 season-opening loss to Oklahoma State dampened the hopes of Georgia fans, but the Bulldogs are coming off back-to-back wins over South Carolina and Arkansas heading into Saturday’s game with Arizona State. Joe Cox seems to have settled in at quarterback, as he has thrown for 738 yards and eight touchdowns, while Richard Samuel has taken over at running back, rushing for 256 yards and two touchdowns. In the return game, Brandon Boykin is averaging over 32 yards per-kick return. Defensively, the Bulldogs rank last in the SEC in points and yards allowed per-game.

Arizona State hasn’t really been tested yet this season, as the Sun Devils have sizeable wins over Idaho State and Louisiana-Monroe thus far. The lopsided games have allowed Arizona State to lead the PAC 10 in every major defensive category, while the offense is second in the conference in points per-game. Danny Sullivan has throw for 385 yards and a touchdown in the two wins while Kyle Williams has 13 receptions for 179 yards. Dimitri Nance has three rushing touchdowns and 113 yards rushing as well for the Sun Devils. Mike Nixon is leading the defense with three interceptions and one touchdown in two games.

Oddsmakers from online sports book BetOnline have made Georgia 11.5-point home favorites over Arizona State on Saturday night. The over/under total for this game has been established at 54.
