Jayhawks edged by WVU
Kansas has been playing better under new coach Les Miles, but the Jayhawks are coming off a 29-24 loss at home to West Virginia. Kansas is now 2-2 on the season, 0-1 in the Big 12, 1-3 against the spread and 2-2 with the over/under total.
The Jayhawks have been led by their defense thus far, as they are giving up just 20.5 points and 374.3 yards per game. Their pass defense is allowing under 200 yards per game. Offensively, Kansas is putting up 25.8 points and 402 yards per outing. Khalil Herbert is leading the offense with 384 rushing yards and two touchdowns while Pooka Williams Jr. has 296 yards on the ground. Carter Stanley has thrown for 861 yards and eight touchdowns with four interceptions. Andrew Parchment has been his top target, catching 24 passes for 367 yards and four touchdowns. The defense is being led by Dru Prox, who has 39 tackles with two sacks.
TCU upset by SMU
After cracking the top 25 rankings last week, TCU let that get away by suffering a 41-38 loss at home to SMU. The Horned Frogs are now 2-1 on the season, 1-2 against the spread and 2-1 with the under.
The Horned Frogs have been pretty solid on offense this year, averaging 37 points and 443 yards per game. The defense is allowing just 20.3 points and 275 yards per contest. Darius Anderson has been leading the offense with 368 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Max Duggan has thrown for 423 yards and five touchdowns. TreVontae Hights has eight catches for 108 yards. Garrett Wallow is leading the defense with 42 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
College Football Betting Trends
Kansas
Kansas is 8-1 with the under in their last nine games on grass.
TCU
TCU is 19-7 with the under in its last 26 conference games and 5-2 with the under in its last seven games on grass.
Prediction:
These two have hit the under in three of their last four meetings and in three straight meetings at TCU. TCU has been able to score this year. It’s the defense that let them down against SMU. I think the Horned Frogs will put up in the high 30’s again this week and Kansas has the ability to score a couple of touchdowns on the road. The Jayhawks put up 48 at Boston College, traditionally a good defensive team. I like the over to go in this one.
