Notre Dame has won its last seven at home against Stanford and the Cardinal’s 45-38 win at home against the Irish last season ended a 7-game losing streak to Notre Dame.
Stanford is 3-0 on the season, scoring 155 points while allowing just 41 in the three games. The Cardinal has been led by quarterback Andrew Luck, who has thrown for 674 yards and 10 touchdowns without an interception. Luck has also rushed for 140 yards and a score. Doug Baldwin and Ryan Whalen each have 10 receptions on the year.
Notre Dame is 1-2 on the year after losing to Michigan State in overtime last weekend. The Irish are struggling defensively, allowing 443.7 yards per game on defense. Notre Dame has been led by quarterback Dayne Crist, who has thrown for 851 yards and seven touchdowns while Armando Allen has rushed for 253 yards and a score. Kyle Rudolph had added 21 receptions for 287 yards and two touchdowns.
