Rutgers drops another
Rutgers suffered a second straight loss on Saturday when the Knights were beaten at home by Boston College, 30-16. Rutgers comes into this weekend 1-2 on the season, 0-1 in the Big Ten, 1-2 against the spread and 2-1 with the under.
The Knights haven’t had much of an offense to rely on, averaging just 21.3 points and 353 yards per game. Defensively, Rutgers is giving up 27 points and 392.7 yards per contest. McLane Carter has thrown for 368 yards and two touchdowns, but he sat out last game with a concussion and is questionable for this game. Artur Sitkowski has thrown for 323 yards and a TD. Raheem Blackshear has caught 22 passes for 255 yards and two touchdowns while Isaih Pacheco is the leading rusher with 239 yards and four touchdowns.
Michigan hammered by Wisconsin
Michigan had one of its worst losses of the Jim Harbaugh era last weekend in a 35-14 loss at Wisconsin. The Wolverines are now 2-1 on the season, 0-1 in the Big Ten, 3-0 against the spread and 2-1 with the over.
The Wolverines have taken a step back on defense this year, giving up 25.7 points and 343.7 yards per contest. Offensively, Michigan is only putting up 26 points and 364 yards per contest. Shea Patterson has thrown for 629 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Wolverines while Zach Charbonnet has rushed for 196 yards and three touchdowns on 43 carries. Ronnie Bell is the leading receiver with 11 catches for 180 yards while Jordan Glasgow is leading the defense with 24 tackles and two sacks.
College Football Betting Trends
Rutgers
The Scarlet Knights have hit the under in four straight road games and in six of their last seven conference games.
Michigan
The Wolverines have hit the over in nine of their last 11 games on fieldturf and in eight straight after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game.
Prediction:
These two have hit the over in five straight meetings and I think it will happen again this weekend. While Michigan looked awful last weekend, the Wolverines have still been very consistent at beating up on bad teams. They put up 40 on Middle Tennessee in the season opener and the team should be challenged by Harbaugh this week after the Badgers did what they did. I don’t expect Rutgers to do much, but I see Michigan putting up over 40 points.
