Wisconsin vs. MSU Prediction
In one of the top games taking place today, who has the edge when No. 8 Michigan State hosts No. 11 Wisconsin at Noon ET on BTN?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Michigan State is favored in this game, as the Spartans are getting odds of -4 points against Wisconsin. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 42 points. MSU has won three of the last four against the Badgers and covered the spread in all four meetings.
Bet on Wisconsin vs. Michigan State
The Spartans are coming off a 36-28 win over Notre Dame last week to really show they are still a team to be dealt with in the Big Ten. Incorporating a lot of new pieces to the team, MSU put up 501 total yards on the Irish, including 260 rushing yards. LJ Scott has run for 203 yards in two games while Tyler O’Connor has thrown for 431 yards and five touchdowns in his two starts. Defensively, MSU is holding opponents to 72 rushing yards per game, which could come in handy against Wisconsin.
The Badgers are off to a 3-0 start, but got a scare last week in a 23-17 win over Georgia State. The Badgers had 400 yards in the game, but had two turnovers. During the game, Wisconsin elected to make a change at QB, giving the ball over to Alex Hornibrook over Bart Houston. Hornibrook gets the start this week. Along with that, Corey Clement sat out last week with an ankle injury and is questionable to play in this game. Without Clement, Wisconsin’s run game could really suffer. Defensively, Wisconsin has been hard to move past. The Badgers are giving up just 13.7 points and 261 yards per game.

With this game being in East Lansing, I give the nod to the Spartans. Over the last few years, they have been the team to win big games in the Big Ten. Hornibrook is going to face a lot of defensive pressure and could make some mistakes. O’Connor has started in big games before and come out with a win, so this game shouldn’t rattle him. Look for MSU to find a way to win by more than four by grinding out possessions.
