No. 4 Mississippi faces its toughest challenge to date, when the Rebels head to South Carolina to face the Gamecocks Thursday night at 7:30PM ET from Brice Stadium.

The Rebels have dominated in wins over Memphis and Southeastern Louisiana but now face a top-notch defense in the Gamecocks, which has only allowed 19 points in their two wins. The Rebels defensively have only allowed 20 points in two games with two defensive touchdowns, one coming from D.T. Shackelford and Fon Ingram each. Jevan Snead has thrown for 384 yards and five touchdowns in two games while Brandon Bolden has 176 rushing yards with a touchdown. The Rebels lost 31-24 to the Gamecocks last season with Snead throwing for 243 yards and a score.

South Carolina defeated North Carolina State 7-3 in the opener before losing 41-37 to Georgia to open SEC play. The Gamecocks rebounded with a 38-16 win over Florida Atlantic last week. Stephen Garcia has thrown for 683 yards and three touchdowns on the season, while Jarvis Giles has rushed for 149 yards and a score. Brian Maddox has three rushing touchdowns on the season, and also had two receiving touchdowns.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have made Mississippi 3.5-point road favorites over South Carolina on Thursday night. The over/under total for this game has been established at 53.
