Duke vs. Notre Dame Pick
With their playoff hopes likely dashed, can Notre Dame regroup this Saturday when they host Duke at 3:30PM ET on NBC?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Notre Dame is the favorite in this game, as the Fighting Irish are getting odds of -20.5 points against Duke on Saturday. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 59.5 points. These two last met back in 2007 with Notre Dame picking up a 28-7 win, covering as a 7-point favorite as well while hitting the under of 48.5.
Notre Dame fell to 1-2 on the season with a 36-28 loss at home to Michigan State. The Irish have lost four of their last five games and have hit the over in all four losses. They have hit the under in their last three wins. The Notre Dame defense really let it down last week, as they gave up 501 total yards and 260 rushing yards to a very questionable Michigan State offense. With the ball, the Irish were surprisingly held to 57 rushing yards by the Spartans. DeShone Kizer has still been solid at QB, throwing for 715 yards and nine touchdowns this season.
Duke fell to 1-2 on the season with a 24-13 loss at Northwestern last week. The Wildcats are just 1-2 against the spread while hitting the under in all three games this season. The Blue Devils are averaging 25.3 points and 433 yards per game on offense while holding opponents to 18 points and 302 yards. Daniel Jones has led the team with 800 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Duke will be able to do some things on defense against the Irish, but the Notre Dame defense has to step up this week. The Irish were embarrassed at home by Michigan State and the defense was certainly to blame. This unit should be motivated to shut down an average Duke offense at home. This game should look similar to the battle with Nevada, in which the Irish won comfortably, but hit the under.
