Ohio State back in gear
Ohio State picked up a 51-10 road win over Indiana last weekend in its Big Ten opener. The Buckeyes are 3-0 on the year, 2-1 against the spread and 1-1-1 with the over/under total through three games.
The Buckeyes are pretty dominant on both sides of the football. Offensively, OSU is putting up 46 points and 499 yards per game. The defense is giving up 10.3 points and 252.7 yards per contest. Running back J.K. Dobbins has been leading the team with 425 yards and four touchdowns. Quarterback Justin Fields has 657 passing yards and nine touchdowns while rushing for 114 yards and four more scores. Binjimen Victor is the team’s leading receiver with 11 catches for 200 yards and a touchdown.
Miami struggles with Cincy
Miami is coming off a 35-13 loss at Cincinnati this past weekend. The Bearcats had lost to Ohio State the week before, 42-0. Miami is 1-2 on the season, 1-2 against the spread and 2-1 with the over.
The RedHawks haven’t looked very impressive this year. The offense is putting up 25 points per game, but averaging just 267 yards per contest. Defensively, Miami is allowing 30 points and 389 yards per game. Brett Gabbert is leading the offense with 481 passing yards and two touchdowns while Jalen Walker is the leading receiver with four catches for 113 yards. Tyre Shelton is the team’s leading rusher, as he has 108 yards and a TD on 24 carries.
College Football Betting Trends
Ohio State
The Buckeyes are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games in September.
Miami
The RedHawks just 2-9 against the spread in their last 11 non-conference games and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games in September.
Prediction:
After a poor second half against FAU, Ohio State has looked outstanding and the Buckeyes seem to know they can turn things up another gear on opponents. Miami was dominated by Cincinnati, and the Bearcats were absolutely smashed by the Buckeyes. I think this game will be ugly unless Ohio State decides to take the day off. That’s always possible in a game this lopsided, but I will trust that Ohio State will continue to put its foot on the gas pedal.
