FRESNO, CA (The Spread) – Two rivals meet up on ESPN Friday Night Football today as Fresno State hosts Boise State at 9PM ET.

Boise State is 2-1 on the season, 0-1 on the road and 1-2 against the spread. Fresno State comes into this game 2-0 overall, 2-0 at home and 0-2 against the spread. Boise State has won seven straight over Fresno State.

Trends show that Boise State is 11-1 against the spread in its last 12 meetings with the Bulldogs and 5-1 ATS in its last 6 trips to Fresno State. Fresno State has hit the over in 9 of its last 13 conference games.

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Fresno State is the slight favorite at home, as the Bulldogs have odds of -3.5 points against Boise State. The spread was never higher than that and hit a low of 3 points before moving to Fresno -3.5. Boise State opened the season on a rough note, losing 38-6 at Washington. Since then, the Broncos have won their last two games by a combined score of 105-34. Boise State is now averaging 37 points and over 450 yards per game on offense. Joe Southwick is having a strong season thus far, throwing for 673 yards and six touchdowns with two interceptions. Five different Boise State receivers have over 100 yards on the year. Running back Jay Ajayi has also rushed for 298 yards and six touchdowns through the three games.

Fresno State was scheduled to play Colorado last Saturday, but flooding postponed the game. The Bulldogs already have an overtime win over Rutgers and a win over Cal Poly this season. Fresno State is scoring 46.5 points per game thus far, but also allowing 38 points per contest against two offense that are likely worse than Boise State’s. Quarterback Derek Carr is off to a fast start. He is 74 of 104 passing for 661 yards and eight touchdowns. Four different receivers have caught a touchdown pass this season and three have over 100 receiving yards. Leading the way is Davante Adams, who has 19 receptions for 179 yards and three touchdowns.

In terms of Injuries, Boise State defensive end Tutulupeatau Mataele (academics) and quarterback Ryan Finley (shoulder) are both questionable for the game, while Fresno State safety Rodney Mathews (knee) is also questionable.
